Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This policy explains what personal data is processed when you visit the website of the “Parks for Generations” campaign and what your rights are, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
Who is the controller
Conservation Carpathia Foundation, as data controller, within the campaign carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests.
Contact details: 27 Calea Feldioarei St., 500053, Brașov, Romania · e-mail: info@carpathia.org · tel.: +40 368 45 24 11.
What data we process
The site is informational: it has no contact forms, does not create user accounts, does not collect names, e-mail addresses or other data you enter, and does not carry out marketing activities.
The only data processed is that automatically recorded by the web server in the access logs, each time a page is accessed:
- your device's IP address;
- the date and time of access;
- the requested page/address;
- the browser type and operating system (user-agent).
For what purpose and on what basis
This data is used exclusively for the operation and security of the site: troubleshooting, preventing and detecting abuse (for example attacks or automated access). The legal basis is the legitimate interest of the controller in keeping the site functional and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How long we keep the data
Server logs are kept for a short period (usually no more than 30 days), after which they are automatically deleted. We do not build visitor databases and do not correlate this information with your identity.
Third parties and transfers
The fonts and the map library (Leaflet) are hosted locally on our server, so no data is transmitted to third parties for them.
The home page contains an interactive map whose tiles (images) are provided by CARTO (CartoDB). When the map loads, your IP address is transmitted to this provider to deliver the images. Processing by CARTO is governed by its own privacy policy (carto.com/privacy).
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and, where applicable, data portability. To exercise these rights you can contact us at the e-mail address indicated above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP) — www.dataprotection.ro.
No automated decisions
We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing and we do not carry out profiling.
Changes to the policy
We may update this policy. The version in force is the one published on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
